Hot can only be defined by contrast to cold. 3840

Learn it.
When ritual becomes religion.

Live it.
There's nothing like lying down after a hot shower. But no one steps into hot water, but slowly makes it hot after their body becomes accustomed to warm. It's the same way in our spiritual life. We started out cold, were warmed to the gospel, and might get hot from time to time but seldom if ever, will test our spiritual temperature.

Missions and evangelism are hot terms in church these days. Much is made of a person's profession of faith in Christ as well we should. That's the basic element of Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 overshadowed only by discipleship and teaching people to obey. Most believe the angels rejoice when someone walks down an aisle to be saved. The fact is, you'll never find a single instance where Jesus invited someone to admit anything, but instead expected them to surrender everything, follow Him, endure persecution and expect trouble. But if you're in a cold church, you will never hear an invitation like the one Jesus gave.

Pray it
Test me, O Refiner, and see if there is any wicked way in me I won't acknowledge.
