Pray for
Our Local Government Leaders
"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways - then, will I hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Give them wisdom to see things from your eyes, God. Pr 9:10, Pr 3:5-8
Give them a healthy fear of God that begins with respect for your Word. Prov 3:7
Keep them humble. Eph 1:18-23
Give them a heart for compromise, but never where they must surrender godly conviction.
Give them a contrite heart, not a haughty arrogance. Ps 51:17
Give them genuine concern for the poor and needy. Pr 28:3, Ps112:9, Lk 10:33-37
Keep them morally pure and focused on things that are fitting a leader.
May they pass laws that are in line with your Word, God.
Give them holy thoughts and keep them from anger and retaliation. Ps 119:9-11
Shut the mouths of those who rebel against the Word of God. Ps 107:10-14
Give them a heart for families. Eph. 5:22-6:1
Give them understanding of right & wrong. 1Cor. 6:9-11, Tit 2:12; Isa 59:14-15
Give them sincere regard for truth and morality, not the opinions of men. Pr 29:25, 2 Tim 1:7
Give them godly counsel by which to rule.
Give them tender, willing hearts to help those who can't or won't express their feelings. Heb 13:7, Eph 2:10-11;Ps 139:13-16
Give them the faith of our founding fathers. 1 Chr 12:32
Make them desirous to restore the damage caused by past unjust laws. Isa 58:12; ; Is 59:19
May they defer to those bearing YOUR legislation, God.
Protect them from intimidation and give them meekness stemming from a proper relationship with you, Father.
Remind them that you own everything and can reclaim it whenever you wish.
Give them discretion along with understanding.
Help them determine the root cause of surface problems and not spend all their time dealing with things that don't address or fix the real problem.
Keep them from adultery. Mal 2:15
